Urban shooting – just for fun {Calgary Photographer}

I was recently asked to photograph a product shoot for a company who wanted an “urban” look to it.  Wait, what?  I definitely don’t have that in my portfolio, and thats certainly not something I generally shoot.  I’m all about natural landscapes, trees, wildflowers, uncut grassy areas, soft evening sunlight and gentle human connection.  So I enlisted a photographer friend to come scout some locations with me, we had a good time, we found some local gems, and then I sat at my computer for a couple days trying to figure out what style of edits to give these photos.  Before and after shots below.  Edits are on the top, raw SOOC on the bottom.  I wanted to share these because while this is not my “usual” look, I loved being able to roll with the punches, use my eye for finding detail and angels and create some art!  Thanks Chris for having my back and driving around with me and showing me some of your favourite locations.

One of the problems I don’t run into shooting natural landscapes is the garbage, next time I’ll bring my broom, haha, but for a quick edit, crop tool worked juuuuuust fine!  But how cool is this graffiti wall??

But seriously now cool is this geometric wall???

Chandelle {Calgary Horse and Portrait Photography}

This was such a fun shoot!  When Chandelle contacted me about taking photos of her with her horse, I was a little nervous because it is out of my usual realm!  But it could not have been more fun!  Thanks Chandelle for giving me this opportunity to move out of my comfort zone!

Hawaiian Sunset | Personal Post

My husband decided I needed a break and planned a 2 week paradise vacation for me!  Luckiest girl ever!  So here I am enjoying the Island of Oahu capturing beautiful sunsets over the ocean,  Amazing.  I could get used to this 😉

Sunset blog

Excuse my blogging absence, I am busy playing catch up after our annual camping trip in BC with my favourite people!

A little shameless iphone selfie with my almost 6 year old!

And I have lots of sessions to share coming up!  Unfortunately it takes a whole week to unpack from a week long camping trip!  😉
