I was recently asked to photograph a product shoot for a company who wanted an “urban” look to it. Wait, what? I definitely don’t have that in my portfolio, and thats certainly not something I generally shoot. I’m all about natural landscapes, trees, wildflowers, uncut grassy areas, soft evening sunlight and gentle human connection. So I enlisted a photographer friend to come scout some locations with me, we had a good time, we found some local gems, and then I sat at my computer for a couple days trying to figure out what style of edits to give these photos. Before and after shots below. Edits are on the top, raw SOOC on the bottom. I wanted to share these because while this is not my “usual” look, I loved being able to roll with the punches, use my eye for finding detail and angels and create some art! Thanks Chris for having my back and driving around with me and showing me some of your favourite locations.
One of the problems I don’t run into shooting natural landscapes is the garbage, next time I’ll bring my broom, haha, but for a quick edit, crop tool worked juuuuuust fine! But how cool is this graffiti wall??

One of my favourite things about my job is getting the mail. Seriously, I LOVE getting print orders and delivering them to my clients. It is so rewarding to see the images that we captured and carefully retouched printed perfectly and professionally. The lay flat albums Laura Taylor Photography offers are the highest quality album out there, I am always amazed! Here is a sample of the latest client albums!
It was so fun looking back at my wonderful newborn sessions this year, remembering the families that came to visit me, and reminiscing on the fun I had posing these sweet bundles. I truly appreciate ALL my clients and the way you trust me with you delicate new babies just days after they are born. I can’t even put into words how much I love my job and meeting all the amazing families that come through my home studio. I am looking forward to an even more amazing 2014!
Eeek! I am so excited about my updated family photo wall! Much thanks to Jody Crane of J.A.C. photography for taking these amazing photos of my family this year! So happy that we finally got our canvases up, and I can not stop looking at them!
There are 5 10″X10″ and 5 10″X21″ – 1.5″ thick gallery wrap canvases. LOVE them! Merry Christmas to me 😉
